For Alex Acosta, fighting Medicare fraud continues to rank as high on his list of priorities as does fighting gangs and political corruption. While the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida promised to continue working northward in delivering reform, it seems that Miami continues to provide him with more than enough fraud to keep him busy. Fraud in Miami healthcare continues to be a staggering 20 percent more prevalent in Miami than anywhere else in the nation, directly related to the unusually large proportion of elderly citizens in the area. Tax payers are suffering as a result of this massive network of fraud. What can be done to solve this problem? Are there enough resources currently being spent towards delivering a solution?
