Lack of Competition Threatens Crist’s Cover Florida Plan

When Charlie Crist introduced the Cover Florida Plan, an effort at providing bare bones coverage for the overwhelming number of uninsured Floridians, he hoped that market competition would make the plan successful. However, when only two large companies, Blue Cross and United Healthcare stepped forward to bid on offering the plans, it seems as though that strategy may not work.
