Florida Children Can Now Be Covered Until they are no longer children

The age of children remaining dependent upon their parents has increased dramatically in recent decades. The causes of this include remaining at home while attending college, having difficulty finding jobs after school, and marrying at much later ages. Previously, parents could only provide coverage to their children until they left school, but now, parents will have the option of keeping their children on a policy until the age of 30. While there are many contingencies to this coverage, which you can read about here, do you think that many parents will continue to provide for their children’s health insurance when they are well past the traditional age to be on their own? What ramifications will this have?

This is hilarious! I actually just found out about this yesterday. Are they serious, 30 years old? I always have to laugh at the parents who call in on a regular basis looking to purchase health insurance for their 40 year old son, how are they ever going to grow up?
