Babtist Health to Provide Grant to Miami Care Center

Babtist Health of South Florida has decided to grant over one and a half million dollars to Miami Baptist Associationâ??s Good News Care Center to cover a span of three years. Mike Daily, founder of the center was thrilled with the decision and says the money will support Miami’s uninsured population in need of medical care. Last year the center and its volunteer physicians and staff cared for more than 4,000 patients, representing roughly $14 million in expenses. With the increased need in the community, Daily feels that more people in other communities should work to establish similar centers to meet the needs of the suffering people in other areas. He is grateful for the assistance of Babtist Health and hopes that their relationship will continue. Given the increasing number of unemployed citizens in Florida who are losing their health insurance, and the limitation of state funds for public programs, how important will these types of clinics become to the uninsured in our communities?
